What inspired you to become a board member of TFNU, and how have the trails and our community influenced your decision to take on this role?
I was assigned to the advisory board as a WACOG assignment when I was mayor of Farr West, after I retired from that position I wanted to continue participating in the TFNU Board.
I enjoy the staff & board members and all the cool events.
Can you share about your background and personal story, including your experiences and favorite moments on the trails or in the outdoors? How have those experiences shaped your work on the board?
I worked for 42 years at what is now Northrop Grumman (Thiokol) where I mostly supported the Space Division including the Space Shuttle and Artemus programs.
I spent many years enjoying skiing, river running, and hiking. One of my favorite moments in the outdoors was when a good friend and I floated down the snake river early morning, there were no other river rats on the river and we pretty much let the river take us where it wanted to only steering into the big rapids as we approached. Being involved and sharing experiences with others is an honor. Life on this small blue ball is so precious and we must be grateful.
How long have you been part of the board?
3+ years
