The Peak Challenge is a self-paced trail challenge for Northern Utah trail lovers who want to set a goal to bag all four iconic local peaks in one season. From Malan’s Peak at 6,980 feet to Ben Lomond Peak at 9,711 feet, each summit offers a rewarding challenge for hikers of all levels.
Participants choose when to complete each of the four peaks; Malans, Lewis, Mt. Ogden & Ben Lomond - just like the levels of our TFNU membership program. Peaks can be done any time, and in any order, between June 6th and October 23rd. Whether you end up bagging just one or do all four, participants will receive an exclusive peak sticker for each mountain top you reach and an exclusive sticker once all four peaks are completed. Those who complete all four peaks during the challenge period will also be recognized at the TFNU Fall Trail Mixer and receive a special award.
Registration cost $30 per person and $20 per dog
Registration Fee Includes:
- Welcome email with instructions for logging your peaks
- Peak-specific completion stickers, available after your peak is submitted. Sticker pickup details will be shared in your welcome packet and in the Facebook and Strava groups
- Access to private Peak Challenge Facebook and/or Strava groups to connect with other challengers, share tips, and check trail conditions
- New 2026 Peak Flags available to check out for photo submissions (limited to 7 days)

All fees go to helping TFNU with our mission to plan, promote, construct, maintain and protect non-motorized public trails and related open space in Northern Utah
