Meet Brett, TFNU Board Member.
What inspired you to become a board member of TFNU, and how have the trails and our community influenced your decision to take on this role?
I love our trail systems and the access to our trails. As a native Ogdenite, I know how important the system is for the city, and for the people of Ogden to connect with nature. I was fortunate enough to grow up near the Beus trailhead, and didn't realize how important the time I spent hiking there with friends, family, and solo would soothe my soul. I am on the TFNU board to do my best to ensure that others have similar access.
Can you share about your background and personal story, including your experiences and favorite moments on the trails or in the outdoors? How have those experiences shaped your work on the board?
One of my favorite experiences on the trials is that we used to have a New Years Eve party at our friend's house that was below the 27th street trails. After dinner on News Year Eve, we, our families, and a happy group of 20 or more people would hike up to the TR Ranch bench area and celebrate the new year. Our kids loved it, and we had many snowy night hikes where we all laughed, shared stories, and enjoyed each other's company.
