The Accounting Specialist is the primary position focused on accounting for the Trails Foundation of Northern Utah (TFNU). Other key duties include: TFNU Membership Campaign oversight, donation management, volunteer management, and maintaining and organizing TFNU documents.

Position Type: 15-20 hours per week
Wage: $19-$21 per hour depending on experience
The Accounting Specialist & Office Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director and assists the TFNU Board Treasurer. Duties shall include but are not limited to:
Job Description
- Responsible for daily/monthly/annual accounts monitoring and maintenance through QuickBooks online
- Accounts Payable- bill payments, check printing
- Income and Expense tracking - restricted and non-restricted funds
- Accounts Receivables- invoicing, deposits and documentations
- Grant tracking and coordination with staff and board members
- Membership and Donor tracking through CRM- Little Green Light and QuickBooks Online
- Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Reports
- Work with Treasurer on reports and documentations
- Run payroll via ADP for all TFNU staff
- Ensure all insurance, documents, business licenses, easements, and contracts are current, filed and accurate
- Assist in organizations events, board meetings and other daily office functions as needed
- Assist Executive Director as needed
Professional Qualifications
- Accounting skills/knowledge and QuickBooks experience is required
- Experience with processing payroll (ADP) and Excel
- Non-profit experience is preferred but not required
- Detail oriented and able to work independently
- Well-organized, self-motivated, and proactive
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of and ability to use various software applications, including: word processing, email, presentation, publishing, spreadsheet, and database
- Ability to make timely decisions when faced with competing priorities and to maintain a composed manner under pressure
- Interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff, board members, volunteers, and partners
- TFNU employees must be able to pass an employment background check
